Akershus Fortress in Oslo

The castle has guarded Oslo for over 700 years. Throughout its entire life, when it was in use, it served as a prison for the most dangerous criminals in the country, but also as an execution site during World War II. There is no doubt that he is considered the most haunted place in Norway. The paradox is that it is one of the most famous buildings in this country. Where do the numerous stories with ghosts as their main characters come from? Considering that the building was a prison in which many inmates died within its walls, history has it that a large group of them haunt the building to this day. The most famous ghost is Malcanisen, known as the "demonic dog", who guards the castle gates after being buried alive hundreds of years ago. The castle still has an active part that is protected by guards. Very often, you can hear numerous stories from them, e.g. about the feeling of being pushed while patrolling the corridors.

Nidaros Cathedral, Trondheim

This building in Trondheim has been on the city's riverside for over 1000 years. An interesting fact is that it was never heard of a scare in the cathedral until 1924. At the time, the bishop's wife stated that she saw the monk's spirit with pale blue eyes and a bleeding wound on his body. The story gets even more interesting when historians announce that the cathedral has never had anything to do with the monk order. In the near future there were more and more events involving the monk's spirit. People who experienced an encounter with the spirit reported that a monk was approaching and passing through people. Additionally, very often in the cathedral, at late night hours, distant singing and the sound of organ music were heard.

The scariest places in Norway. Pyramiden, Svalbard

It is a former Soviet settlement located on the Norwegian, Arctic archipelago of Svalbard. Her fame is so great that she found her place in the ranking of ten the best towns in the world according to National Geographic. Formerly it was a mining outpost. In 1998, its activities were disbanded and the area was left basically untouched. You can find cups left on the tables, newspaper clippings hanging on the walls or skis propped up in the corridors. The area of ​​the settlement has not had many paranormal phenomena, but since the mining activities were discontinued, the area has seen very few visitors. Those who can muster the courage report that they feel a strange cold when visiting the deserted buildings.

Ruins of the Church of Nes

People walking around this former church on the banks of the Glomma River in Akershus say they feel a lot of resistance when walking through the ruins.
