11.11.2018/100/XNUMX is a special day for every Pole, because today we celebrate the XNUMXth anniversary of independence. Yesterday, on this occasion in Oslo, there was a solemn celebration in which the Norwegian Polish diaspora took part. The organizer of the ceremony was the Polish Club of Norway and the Association of Poles in Oslo. Special guests were representatives of the embassy and consulate.
Fighting for independence and connecting generations
Yesterday's celebration could not begin except with the raising of the Polish banner and the singing of the national anthem. This last responsible activity was performed by the young, 3-year-old artist Oskar, accompanied by 12-year-old Aleksander. It was a wonderful moment because the fight for our independence brought generations together, and yesterday's performance showed that it is still happening. The joy of the celebrated anniversary is shared by the oldest and the youngest.
The speech of the Ambassador
The Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Norway, Iwona Woicka-Żuławska, performed before the wonderful artistic part that the gathered Norwegian Polish diaspora had the opportunity to watch yesterday in Enerhauggat. During her speech, the Ambassador thanked everyone for coming. Additionally, she reminded that Poland has many threads and similarities war, but also political, together with Norway, which are worth remembering. She also recalled the next 100th anniversary, which will take place in 2019. This is the anniversary of the bilateral political relations that connect our country with Norway. After the performance, everyone had the opportunity to taste a delicious cake, which was cut by Ambassador Iwona Woicka-Żuławska herself.

Artistic part
During the performance, people gathered and those who watched the LIVE broadcast Radio Wataha they had the opportunity to recall the history of our country and the fight for its independence. The times of partitions, times of 123 years when Poland did not exist on the map. We also had the pleasure of listening to poems and songs that at that time encouraged the people to fight for independence. Also mentioned were artists such as Adam Mickiewicz and Juliusz Słowacki, who had to leave the country for political reasons, but nevertheless made Poland famous abroad with their works. The sublime part of the performance was the moment when everyone present, standing at attention, sang a song we all knew Route. During the artistic part there was also singing the Polish anthem.
