The change in weather over the past year is remarkable. High pressure throughout the country means only one thing - snow makes us wait for ourselves.

Light drizzle over Oslo

On Monday morning, the people of Oslo could feel a slight drizzle, but the snow that had also appeared disappeared very quickly. Not only Norway's capital expects snow, but so does the rest of the country. Jan Inge Hansen, a meteorological consultant at the Institute of Meteorology, says, “There is no snow to talk about. Of course we will find something negligible in the high mountains in the south of the country, but nothing else. Comparing last year to this, we have a diametric change. Those looking for a lot of snow and skiing will have to wait.

The climate change

The weather is changeable. That year, Norwegians could easily enjoy the big ones snowfall. This year will be a little different. Snow and its precipitation depend on sea level and distance from the coast. Surprisingly, the areas of Lake Sjusjøen and Beitostølen are still snow-free. It took place last weekend openly skiing season in Beitostolen. Unfortunately with due to lack snow, the owners had to resort to an artificial product. This was necessary to remain competitive.

High pressure and positive temperature

At the beginning of November we could experience light rain snowfall, accompanied by rain. The snow disappeared as quickly as it appeared, due to the above-average temperatures. Currently, there is high pressure in the country, which stops snowfall.

Snow in Finnmark and Troms

W next week Finnmark and Troms can expect snow. According to Hansen, "Precipitation in some places may reach 70-80 millimeters." Sleet is forecast, so residents may not even experience its uniqueness. Hansen adds that in the south there is a rule that only at 25 centimeters of snow you can talk about skiing.
