Who among us has never fallen into the pre-Christmas shopping frenzy? It turns out that the Norwegians are second to none for the third year in a row. Norwegian cards have been used 25 million times in the last three days. The Christmas record has been broken again!

The last three days before Christmas are usually very stressful. We all want to get everything perfect. Buying gifts and grocery shopping means that the last days before Christmas are often the most profitable. For whom? For everyone stores opened during this period. On Friday, the Norwegians managed to use the card 8,9 million times, which gave a turnover of almost 4 billion. Thursday and Saturday were no worse. In total, during these three days, the Norwegians took their card from the wallet 25,4 million times to pay for purchases with it. The turnover on these days is estimated at 10,9 million CZK. Compared to last year, the number of purchases increased by 4,2%, and the turnover by 4,7%.

December turnover increase
It turns out that Norwegians spend more and more every year in December. This is how the list of several years looks like:
2010- CZK 48 billion
2013- CZK 50 billion
2015- CZK 55 billion
2017 -62,9 billion CZK
This year does not look any worse. It is estimated that in December 2018, CZK 58,5 billion will be spent, which translates into CZK 11 per person.
