A toy giant with a 70-year tradition is falling. in the next country. This only means one thing: over 300 employees of Norwegian stores will lose their jobs.

Toys "R" Us declares bankruptcy as a toy giant

Toys "R" Us is a company founded in 1948 in the United States. The toy giant operates almost 881 stores and employs almost 65 employees around the world. The company offers children's toys, trampolines, swimming pools, bedding, and toys of its own design, but also those of leading international companies. Toys "R" Us has been struggling with all sorts of problems for a long time, but after a failed holiday sale, they decided to make a difficult decision. The press release announced that Toys "R" Us w Norway declares bankruptcy.

The fight for the company lasted until the end

The president of Toys "R" Us says the company has been through a lot recently. On September 18, 2017, they filed for bankruptcy protection in Canada. In March this year it was announced that all stores in the UK were closing. Moments later, it was announced that all stores in the US must also be closed. For a very long time, all employees did everything to protect the toy giant from the worst. The last resort in Norway was the purchases made by customers this Christmas and during the post-Christmas sale. Unfortunately, it did not bring the intended effect. Therefore, the company's management had to admit that they were unable to continue running a business.

The company's management agrees as to the reason behind the bankruptcy of Toys "R" Us. Digitization, more competition and changing children's habits. These are the three aspects that, according to the president of Toys "R" Us, contributed to the company's downfall.

300 Norwegian workers will lose their jobs

At the beginning of 2017 the company employed in Norway over 300 people. With Toys "R" Us filing for bankruptcy, unfortunately all of these employees will lose their jobs.
