Nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize

The events of the last few days are something that has not happened in Poland for a long time. Jurek Owsiak was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize, right after he resigned as president of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity. His nomination was submitted to the Norwegian committee by MP Andrzej Kobylarz together with Rafał Collins from TVN Turbo.

That's not the first time

Jurek Owsiak's nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize on Tuesday is not his first. In fact, this is the third time in a row that his person has been reported to this type of event. The two previous applications were submitted by the political scientist professor Adam Grzegorczyk and Joanna Szmidt from Nowoczesna. Of course, both applications were accepted, but Jurek Owsiak did not receive the award.

It was this slogan that flooded the entire Internet after Jurek Owsiak informed all of us about his resignation from the position of president of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity foundation. Poles cannot come to terms with this decision and as part of uniting with Jurek and showing him support, a special hashtag was created #muremzaowsiakiem. It is to show the enormous amount of support that flows towards the main founder of the foundation. Rafał Collins, when he proposed Jurek Owsiak's candidacy for the Nobel Peace Prize, wrote: “I decided to go a step further in supporting Jurek Owsiak and the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity. Today, on January 15, 2019, the Norwegian Committee accepted my nomination for Jurek Owsiak as the winner of the Nobel Peace Prize 2019 "

Substantiation 

When nominating a candidate for the Nobel Peace Prize, provide a reason why the nomination will be accepted. What did Collins write? Read on: "When writing the justification, I only had 2000 characters at my disposal, so I wrote: JERZY OWSIAK CANNOT BE DESCRIBED IN 2000 CHARACTERS, JERZY OWSIAK SHOULD NOT BE DESCRIBED IN 2000 CHARACTERS."
