After the famous case of removing the Polish consul Sławomir Kowalski from his position. Yesterday, the Norwegian authorities decided to recognize the consul as persona non grata! The Polish authorities decided to take similar actions against the Norwegian consul.

The Polish diplomat was removed from the position of consul of the Republic of Poland in Norway. The reason given by Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs there is a bad attitude of the consul in certain consular matters. Additionally, inappropriate behavior towards public officials. Slawomir Kowalski is known for helping Polish families, as well as for fighting the Norwegian office of Barnevernet. Yesterday, the diplomat was declared persona non grata. Ultimately Polish authorities made a similar decision regarding Norwegian diplomacy.

MFA statement

Yesterday, the official website of the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs published a statement that the Polish consul Sławomir Kowalski was recognized as persona non grata by the Norwegian authorities. According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs proceedings of Norway is baseless and unjustified. Because Poland is satisfied with consul's work, who bravely defended the interests of Polish families. As a result of the above decisions "acting on the principle of reciprocity and based on international custom." The Ministry of Foreign Affairs decided to recognize a Norwegian diplomat serving as consul in Warsaw as persona non grata.

The situation that was to determine the fate of the consul was the intervention in the city of Hamar, where the diplomat wanted to see Polish children, previously taken away from their parents. The shared video shows how consul together with their mother, the children try to meet them. However, Norwegian officials do not allow them to do so. Ultimately, the diplomat was accused of aggression, and as a result, the police were called, who forcibly removed the consul from the building despite having diplomatic immunity.
