Ferries in Norway
What is it related to? Is it possible to improve safety and not to endanger the life and health of passengers?
Statistically, less than half of the ferry workers confirm that in the event of an emergency, which is undoubtedly a fire on board, they would not be able to effectively eliminate the threat.
Ship masters confirm that the number of employees allocated to a given voyage is insufficient to ensure the safety of passengers in the event of a fire. With around 300 travelers, the number of evacuation assistants is alarmingly low as there are only 4 staff members.
The passengers are wrong. Ferries in Norway
Annually, over 3,6 million travelers use Norwegian ferries. This form of sea transport is one of the most popular in Norway. The restrictions on the safety of passenger transport, on-board standards and equipment are strictly defined. Travelers say that they have full confidence in ferry workers, while the latter talk about their numerous doubts as to their own preparation for dealing with a life-threatening situation for passengers.
The employees are left with the belief that there will be no one hundred percent occupancy on the ship every day during their work. They say something tragic must happen for the safety conditions to change.
