It is hard to imagine a life without a car today. We need a driving license for our daily functioning, for traveling - simply for living. It turns out that the Norwegian Polish Diaspora and not only it is not possible to get a driving license in Poland due to the valid, dead regulation saying that you have to stay 185 days in the country to be able to start a driving license course in Poland. We appeal to the government and Jarosław Kaczyński to change into law this one point, which is very harmful to us, our children, relatives who want to obtain a driving license in the country.
We call for a change of a dead provision in the law. Having a Polish passport, we should have an open way to get a driving license in Poland.

This provision raises concern and opposition also among the officials themselves, as we talked about some time ago in a special material.

Driving license in Poland not for the Polish diaspora - an appeal to President Jarosław Kaczyński!
Dear Mr. President,
We are turning to you on behalf of Radio Wataha in Norway and the entire Polish community. We appeal to you and your party for minor changes in the law - regarding the Polish diaspora obtaining driving licenses in Poland. Currently, this regulation states that you must stay in the country for a minimum of 185 days to obtain a driving license. This closes the way to obtaining the law driving for all Poles staying in Norway permanently: their children, loved ones…
We appeal for everyone who has a Polish passport to be able to obtain a driving license in Poland without time limits. They are unnecessary and harmful to us, the Polish community. A driving course in Poland will give us the opportunity to obtain a driving license at a lower and more favorable price, in our native language, Polish. There is Polonia an increasingly larger social group – change in law will certainly increase the number of students in Poland, while having a positive impact on the Polish economic situation.
One point marked in the statement before the start of the driving license course regarding a stay in Poland for a minimum of 185 days very often forces many of us to lie, generating fear of losing the driving license. It is completely unnecessary and redundant. The change will be good and beneficial to all of us. It will protect us, our children, from building a future on lies.
Please respond to our request!
