Høyre – the number of municipalities is decreasing. Let's remind. After the last municipal elections, Høyre secured mayoral positions in 32 municipalities. However, the number of such places is smaller than in 2015. After the 2011 elections, Høyre had mayors in as many as 119 municipalities. It is worth noting, however, that this is not the end of the "mayor's" awards. There are still municipalities on the map of Norway where mayors have not been elected yet. There, Høyre still has a chance to propose a representative. Free municipalities include: Halden, Askøy and Kristiansand. However, according to research and forecasts, this will not significantly change the final effect.
Høyre - the number of municipalities is declining - the fight continues!
Joachim Meyer Svendsen, media liaison advisor in the parliamentary Høyre group, points out that Høyre is fighting not only for mayor positions, but also for deputy mayors. In this way, he wants to become an important part of the ruling coalition.
What about the rest of the “players”?
For the Labor Party, the results of the last election were not entirely favorable. Many issues in the arena political Norway has changed. However, it should be noted that the Labor Party (AP) of Jonas Gahr Støre may take power in Norwegian local governments. It is quite possible that the Labor Party will govern the areas and municipalities where a total of 62 percent of Norway's population lives. This is only possible when negotiations on the final composition of city councils are successfully completed the capital of Oslo and Bergen. It cannot be denied that a successful conclusion of these negotiations is very important for this grouping.
