A few years ago, we observed a great boom in electric cars. Sales increased every month. The situation became more intense when the cars appeared for a few minutes. They turned the market upside down. What's happening now? Well, suddenly the number of electric cars in Norway dropped really significantly, by as much as 40 percent last month. The Norwegian association of electric car users is looking for ideas on how to stop this downward trend. What do they propose?

Electric car sales - the fashion for electrics is coming to an end

The latest figures provided by the Traffic Information Council (OFV) are merciless. According to the latest reports, October sales were not kind. It turns out that 2.344 fewer electric cars were sold than in September this year. A total of 3.742 electric cars were sold in October, down 40 percent in just one month.

Experts say: “the government should get involved!”

Industry experts say government support is needed for sales to jump again. It can be difficult without it.

Low sales electric cars shows that we need to strengthen the electric car market in Norway. Parliament, which is working today on next year's state budget, should take this into account. We are still far from achieving our goal of 50 percent share electric cars on sale new cars in 2019. And if Norway is to achieve its goal of selling only electric cars by 2050, we need to really step up our efforts.” – comments Christina Bu, secretary general of the Norwegian Association of Electric Car Users, in an interview with Netavissen.

Electric car sales - the power of advertising is worth appreciating!

Government support is one thing - solid advertising and expansion of promotional activities is also necessary. The recipient of the advertisement should primarily be residents of smaller cities. While in large cities, such as the capital of Oslo, we can observe a lot of electricians, residents of smaller towns are still afraid of such a solution. It is them who need to be persuaded to buy an electric car.
