It is said that Norwegian law enforcement agencies operate very efficiently. However, as it turns out, individual police units - regional and national ones - are constantly looking for many people who are avoiding serving their sentences. 4 fugitives are being searched for. Who are these people? Most of them are convicts who "do not intend" to serve their sentences. There are also people among them who went on leave and disappeared - they did not reappear. We are looking for citizens of 83 countries around the world. Poles are "forerunners" when it comes to arrears with the payment of fines. The total amount to be paid is almost CZK 27 million.
Trust in the Norwegian police is declining ...
The problems described above make us lose money trust in the police in Norway. We begin to doubt its effectiveness. In addition - and this is important - we do not feel safe in the country of fjords.
“This is a serious problem that affects society's decreasing respect for the law and court judgments.” – emphasizes Rita Kilvær, director of the prison service in Norway.
Need to change the law!
Let's summarize. . Changes in the law are needed. Especially regarding the prosecution of foreigners. Today, the regulations are still unclear and complicated. In addition, it would be worth strengthening police structures. Greater number of patrols, emphasis on consistent debt collection. Without a doubt, these issues need to be modified, and not only slightly.
