Soon after their entry, everyone who is not registered in Norway will have to be quarantined at the hotel. There are still many unknowns as to how this program will work. In Australia, quarantine hotels have turned out to be a failure.
According to the government in Norway, hotele quarantines will be started as soon as possible.
But today no one is able to say how long the stay at the hotel will last, who will pay for it, how many rooms will be needed, and whether the travelers will be guarded by police officers.
Now we are working on how it will work in practice. The important thing is that those who enter the country and are obliged to quarantine can document their place of residence, and if they are not, they must stay in the hotel, says Deputy Health Director Espen Nakstad at NRK.
Erna Solberg herself used the example of her grandmothers when the restrictions were presented, and the quarantine program will apply to everyone who visits Norway and has no home of his own, where they can be quarantined without endangering and infecting family members.
Solberg also doesn't have a clear answer on where to send the hotel bill:
The government notes that employers are responsible for ensuring quarantine employees coming to Norway in order to take up work.
. Hotel like a prison
Several countries have benefited from hotel quarantine almost since the start of the pandemic in March. In China, travelers straight from the airports were transported to hotels by buses. No one was allowed to leave the rooms for 14 days.

According to Nakstad, it will not be so strict in Norway. She points out that quarantined persons may, for example, go for a walk in the fresh air, but cannot go to the store or take the bus.
- Quarantine is not a prison. You can be outside during quarantine. You should not be in contact with other people, and you must not use public transport or go to work.
