The government is continuing most of the countermeasures that have been put in place following the detection of a mutant virus in Nordre Follo and Halden.
- The infection situation is confusing and is developing rapidly. More infectious variants of the virus are constantly being detected, and there is an unknown route for transmission to a few infected. Therefore, the measures are largely continued, says Health Minister Bent Høie (H).
Today's measures are valid until Wednesday. The most important changes that followed were the transfer of Nordre Follo and Ås from Ring 1 to Ring 2, and lightening the level of restriction. Enebakk, Frogn, Nesodden and Vestby are excluded from the scheme through reinforced national measures and have discretion at local level.

There were 134 known cases of the British mutation of the virus in Oslo on Monday. This commune has the most cases. Helse Bergen, which covers 18 municipalities, reports that one of the three discovered cases is the British mutation.
In other municipalities where outbreaks have also occurred, the number of new infections seems to have decreased sharply in recent days, which may indicate that they have been controlled or are in the process of being infected. An example is Fredrikstad, where there were nine cases with the British variant.
The chairman of Oslo city council says there is a limit to how long the strict measures can last. Because infection rates are currently low in Oslo. He also says that the people of Oslo cannot have very strict measures to be on the safe side.
