A new road, a new concept

A new electric road was opened in the outskirts of Stockholm. Its task is to supply electricity to the cars moving on it. The open section is 2 km long and is to be the cradle of the entire network of this type of road throughout Sweden.

This is not the first such solution

This is not the first road of this type in Sweden. In 2016, an episode called eHighway was launched. The vehicles were loaded with the overhead contact line installed above the road. However, the problematic issue was the simultaneous loading of passenger cars and trucks. Therefore, the new concept of the electric road provides for charging by means of a rail that has been installed in the road.

A bow to e-mobiles

The planned network of this type of roads in Sweden is to be a tribute to owners of electric cars. This is a response to the growing interest in this type of vehicle, and at the same time the limitations result from the currently achieved ranges. This is expected to increase mobility and increase the demand for electric cars. Thanks to this, the problem of long-term charging at stations during longer journeys will be eliminated. If the new concept is successful, the Swedish authorities will soon start building new electrical sections.

Who cut off Mauritania?

An unusual situation occurred in Mauritania. The country was cut off from the Internet for two days. This was due to the cut of the underwater cable that supplied the signal to that country. The incident took place on March 30, which was a surprise to Moorish citizens.

There is no Internet, and no one is to blame

The circumstances under which this cable was cut have not been established. It is unknown why this happened and who is behind it. There is speculation that the government in Sierra Leone may be responsible for this. However, these are not official findings.

Not only Mauritania suffered

African Coast to Europe is a submarine internet cable, which on a section of 17 thousand. km connects 22 countries from France to South Africa. Cable damage at the height of Mauritania also affected the deterioration of the quality of services provided in countries such as: Ivory Coast, Senegal, Equatorial Guinea, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Gambia and Benin. The owner of this infrastructure is Oracle, which, however, did not comment on the matter.
