This good news for transport companies and tourists. This is also good news for border trade, which due to the coronavirus pandemic and, of course, the closed border in both directions, is now zero. But it's still good news. When everything returns to normal, you will be able to cross the border into Svinesund free of charge. The current amounts charged at the toll plaza in Svinesund are: NOK 20 for vehicles up to 3500 kg and NOK 100 for vehicles over 3500kg.

On Friday, February 19 at at 13.15 p.m., the Norwegian Minister of Transport and Communications, Knut Arild Hareide, and the Swedish ambassador to Norway's Cecilia Björner will sign the agreement between Norway and Sweden. The agreement enables the closure of toll collection points at the border in Svinesund. The date of fee abolition will be known when signing the contract. The signing will take place at the headquarters of the Ministry of Transport in Oslo.
