Proposed amendments to the Act on Patient Documentation in Norway

The Ministry of Health and Healthcare proposes changes to the act on patient documentation. The proposal authorizes the Ministry to issue regulations that require companies providing health and care services to make available and use an electronic prescription solution (e-prescriptions), Nasjonal kjernejournal *, helsenorge.no and health networks.

The changes will also facilitate better national coordination and cooperation between administrative levels

The proposal also authorizes the Ministry to issue binding regulations companies to pay for management and service these solutions.
