News update on website The hospital reports that Ahus is already introducing additional measures to deal with the growing number of patients needing immediate attention. Typically, such measures are not implemented until late winter.
There is a large influx of patients with respiratory infections, and the hospital sees between 10 and 20 COVID-19 patients daily.
- The early and large influx of patients created a difficult situation, especially in the emergency department and children's clinic in Nordbyhagen. That is why we are already implementing measures that are prepared for the winter season, as well as measures that can strengthen the work in the emergency department and facilitate the transfer of patients to the wards. This is Øystein Mæland's CEO in Ahus speaking.
Staffing has been increased in the emergency room, in some departments and in the laboratory due to COVID-19 patients. At the same time, the number of employees has increased to cope with the growing number of patients.
