The Norwegian State Roads Authority warns of very difficult road conditions and road closures in certain parts of Northern Norway in the next few days.

Harsh weather in Northern Norway lingers in much of the region. NVE and the Norwegian Meteorological Institute warn of strong winds, soaring temperatures and heavy rainfall, especially on Sunday.

Weather conditions increase the risk of all types of landslides, both snow, flood and mud landslides. The warnings extend from Salten in the south to West Finnmark in the north. The biggest road challenges are expected to be in Ofoten, southern Troms and parts of inner Troms.

– Based on danger warnings from NVE and the Norwegian Meteorological Institute, we in Norwegian Road Administration We are prepared for the fact that the road situation will be very difficult, says department director Unni Gifstad at the Norwegian Public Roads Administration.
– In Ofoten, southern Troms and inner Troms there will be very difficult driving conditions and problems with access to roads. We encourage you to leave your car here. Roads may be closed anytime soon and there is a real danger you won't get where you're going or get home, says Gifstad.
