The Day of the Flag of the Republic of Poland was established by the Sejm of the Republic of Poland in 2004.
The aim of this holiday is to promote respect for the flag and disseminate knowledge about Polish identity and national symbols. On this day, Poles proudly display flags at homes and state institutions. The Polish flag is with us at all important moments. During solemn and solemn events, but also on days of mourning for the loss of outstanding and brave Poles, in moments of emotion and joy.
The Ministry of the Interior and Administration promotes the principles of presenting the flag in accordance with tradition and honor. A special mini-guide "White-Red" was created at the Ministry of Interior and Administration, which presents information and interesting facts about the display of national colors. The publication resembles, among others about the most important differences between the flag and national colors. It also indicates that in the territory of the Republic of Poland the state flag always takes precedence over other flags.
The common practice of inscriptions and drawings by fans watching sports competitions is allowed only on the national colors. There are many forms of displaying the national colors, e.g. by wearing them in the form of a white and red national bow.
