From November 8 to November 13, 2022, applications for biometric passports will not be accepted and it will not be possible to collect ready-made passports.

Due to the entry into force of the new law on passport documents and the launch of the Register of Passport Documents, all passport authorities, including embassies and consulates, from November 8 at 14:00 (Central European Time) until November 13, 2022, passport applications will not be accepted. During this period, it will also not be possible to collect a ready passport.

Please take the above into account in your travel plans and plan your visit to the office no later than on November 8, 2022, at 14:00 CET or after November 14, 2022. The date of the visit can be booked in the e-konsulat system: https://secure.e-konsulat.gov.pl/

During this period, in particularly justified cases, passport authorities will only be able to issue temporary passports (e.g. in the event of theft/loss of documents and the need to return to the country of permanent residence).

The new passport system will introduce numerous improvements, for example:

– you will not need to fill out a paper application, though you will still have to come to the office in person. The passport application will be generated in the system by an official and then signed by the citizen on a special device

– the age limit for issuing passports with a 10-year validity period will be lowered. They will receive them children from the age of 12

– passport holders will gain access to e-services such as verifying the validity of the passport, checking the data processed in the register, or reporting the loss resulting in the cancellation of the passport

– if the new passport will be sent to you by post, you will have to confirm its receipt in the system after receiving the registered letter with the passport. Acknowledgment of receipt will be required to "activate" your new passport.

We would like to thank you for your understanding and cooperation in implementing the new passport system and please take the above information into account when planning a visit to the Consular Section. Polish Embassy in Oslo.
