10th edition of POLSKE FILMDAGER – POLISH FILM DAYS!
October 8-15 – Fredrikstad, October 20 – Oslo
This year, the Polish filmdager (Polish Film Days) is celebrating its round anniversary. “This is a historic moment for the Norwegian Polish community, as well as the entire multicultural festival community. We invite everyone to celebrate together!” says festival director Magdalena Tutka.
The anniversary began with the opening of the new Polish ethnoscene Polish filmdager – FOLKLOVE on the Røed farm on Jeløy in August this year. In autumn, the tenth anniversary celebrations move to the "festival capital", the Fredrikstad Cinema, where a film weekend will be held on October 13-15. You will be able to see an exhibition devoted to the history and volunteers of the festival, participate in the anniversary gala, screenings of Polish films and a unique multimedia evening with the Ukrainian silent film "Bread" (1929) with live music performed by the CHVOST duo from Krakow.

There will also be spontaneous dance workshops and family workshops titled “CHAMELEONS! ASK ME: “WHO AM I?”, as well as meetings with special guests and a Polish diaspora meeting on the role of culture in integration processes, carried out in cooperation with the Mangfold and Arbeidslivet Foundations and the Polish Dialog Forum. Festival director Magdalena Tutka especially invites you to the "golden collection" of Polish films, such as "Cold War" by Paweł Pawlikowski or "IO" by Jerzy Skolimowski, as well as the Polish-Mexican concert of the CARAVANA BANDA band and the anniversary fiesta at the festival finale on October 20 at the Cosmopolite Scene in Oslo. The final concert will be enriched with a multimedia presentation of Sławomir Mrożek's drawings on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the Master's passing.
HISTORY OF THE FESTIVAL
It is a rare phenomenon on the Norwegian cultural market that the organizers invite you to all festival events, giving away tickets free of charge, like gifts. The Polske filmdager festival, organized in cooperation with Kino Fredrikstad, managed to maintain this principle throughout ten editions. This is proof of the great motivation of the co-organizers to deepen intercultural dialogue in Norwegian society. The reaction from both Polish and Norwegian speaking audiences was very good from the very beginning. These were rich festival years with almost 200 events. The Polske filmdager arena in Fredrikstad and Oslo was visited by approximately 20 spectators, over 000 invited artists and special guests, dozens of volunteers from 50 different countries every year, and a number of committed partners from Poland and Norway.
We cordially invite you to the unique celebration of the 10th anniversary of POLSKE FILMDAGER
– film weekend at the Fredrikstad Cinema on October 13-15, an exhibition in the Cinema's foyer on October 8-15 and a festival day with a final concert at the Cosmopolite Scene in Oslo on October 20.
