– The municipal sector cannot be left alone in the event of major natural disasters. It's right that all of society stands up and helps. The discretionary program is a good and predictable program, and we are now temporarily expanding it to best help affected local communities, says Minister of Municipalities and Districts Erling Sande.

Thanks to this support, communes and counties affected by natural disasters can receive partial compensation for the expenses incurred.

Due to the extreme weather Hans, the program guidelines are temporarily extended. This means that cleaning costs can be included in a discretionary allowance claim if they are not covered by other schemes. This also applies to cleaning areas other than municipal infrastructure.
