This is the highest amount ever recorded

In total, approximately NOK 2022 billion in taxes were paid for the 1702 financial year.

– This is the highest amount we have ever recorded in tax settlement, and this is largely due to the large increase in oil tax. However, the numbers are also higher for businesses, employees, retirees and the self-employed than in previous years, says tax director Nina Schanke Funnemark.

For comparison, NOK 2021 billion in tax was paid for the 1057 income year.

Most received the money permanently

The tax return shows that more than 3,2 million employees, retirees and self-employed people received a refund of over NOK 42 billion. They received an average of NOK 12 back.

740 employees, retirees and self-employed people had to pay a total of NOK 000 billion in back taxes, which means that each individual had to pay an average of NOK 28.

From today it is possible to search tax statements

Tax lists for the 2022 income year will be available for search on the website skatteetaten.no from 05.00 in the morning on December 6.

– Tax rolls don't show how much income you have from salary, but they tell you how much net income you have. This is your income less any deductions you are entitled to. In the same way, wealth data doesn't show how much you have in the bank, but what your net worth is, says tax director Nina Schanke Funnemark.

To search tax statements, log in to the Tax Office website. Searches are not anonymous and a register is kept of who you are looking for on the tax rolls, so you can see who is looking for you and checking you.

Since December last year, the Norwegian Tax Office has recorded 1,3 million tax list searches, divided into 521 unique logins. About 000 users checked who was looking for their tax information. This is slightly less than in previous years. Over the course of the year, more than 285 million searches were made on the tax lists on skatteetaten.no.
