Norway is one of the richest countries in Europe. We don't need any statistics to make this statement, we know this from experience. After all, material and better benefits life is one of the main reasons for moving to the country of fjords. More and more families buys houses and apartments here and decides to settle permanently. We earn more, so we can afford better and more expensive clothes, phones, computers, cars, etc. the list is very long.

Our fortune is the result of very hard work workingand often also sacrifices. All this to ensure that our family has everything that is best. Therefore, we should remember to ensure the safety of ourselves, our family and our belongings.

We are most afraid of burglaries during holidays, when the house is left without our care for a long time.

Of course, this is correct thinking, but statistics show that the winter months when through it's dark most of the day, so it's just as good time for thieves to get into the house when the owners are away.

Most of us will immediately think about alarms, monitoring and anti-burglary doors, but we forget about the basic things.

Here are some tips on how to avoid breaking into your home or office.

First, don't tempt fate!

Most thieves watch their target before they break in.

Make sure that your windows are always covered!

Take care of your privacy. Autumn and winter are the months when it is dark most of the day, so we turn on the lights indoors. In such conditions, we can see what is inside through the windows of our houses. A random passer-by can easily see everything we do at home, what we watch on TV, what stuff they are placed on the cabinets, what the layout of our apartment/house/office looks like and what equipment is in it. Make sure your windows are always covered to avoid unwanted visitors people couldn't see what they found inside.

Second, secure!

Thieves prefer objects that offer little resistance to them. Create a barrier that will effectively discourage them!

Time is of the essence for a burglar. Checks where to hit the fastest and easiest. The conclusion is that you must first of all choose such methods of securing the apartment that will be as difficult as possible for burglars and take a lot of time. Roller blinds or even external blinds installed on the windows are a barrier that is difficult to overcome. They will signal that this house is well protected and will not be an easy target for sure.

Third, confuse!

Wilted flowers on the windowsill or lights off after dark are a sign that the house is empty.

If you are planning a long trip, ask a friend or neighbor to look after the house. Burglars are observers, if they notice that there is no light in your house after dark for a few days, or the flowers on the windowsill have withered, it is a sign that no one is looking after the house. Ask your friend to turn on the light in your house from time to time, leave the TV or radio playing for a few hours just to let something happen.

. Forewarned is forearmed!

Let's remember that even though Norway is one of the calmer and safer countries. However, it is worth making sure that no one steals our property. Let's at least try to make it difficult for a potential thief to observe and gain access to our rooms. It is a small effort for us, but it can protect us from unnecessary damage and worries.
