2018 brought some new changes to our Polish drivers. One of them is the possibility of not having a registration certificate and a third party liability insurance policy when inspecting the vehicle. What else awaits us?
Vehicle registration certificate and third party liability policy
October 1, 2018 brought two changes to drivers. From that date, everyone who drives the vehicle is not required to bring a registration certificate and a third party liability policy. This is a great convenience because in the event of an inspection, the person performing it can check all the driver's data in the CEPIK database.

Further changes
The Ministry of Infrastructure and Digitization jointly decided decision to introduce further changes, which are intended to make life even easier for drivers and all the bureaucracy related to owning and driving a car. The main changes planned are:
- Eliminating the imposition of a fine on a driver who does not have a driving license with him during the inspection,
- elimination of the control sticker,
- cancellation of the vehicle card,
- the possibility for the new car buyer to keep his existing registration numbers.
2019 is a year of changes
All the above-mentioned changes to be introduced are planned for 2019. However, both Ministries warn that at the moment these are only plans and before they are implemented, it takes time and many legal regulations. Benefits for drivers of changes
The vehicle card is a document that currently costs about PLN 80 for each driver. Thanks to its abolition, this amount will simply be saved by us. In addition, if we do not have to change the license plates when buying a new car and resignation from the control sticker will also be possible, then we get rid of another expense of PLN 99,50.
