As reported by weather forecasters, snow is to fall in the north of Norway today, very intensively. In Tromsø it can drop to 20 centimeters over the weekend. However, there are places where the rainfall will be even more intense. As a result, on Sunday evening there may even be a 45 cm layer of white down there.
Winter weekend
According to the weather forecasters, Z. Meteorological Institutenext Friday, Saturday and Sunday are under the sign heavy snowfall in the north of Norway. 20-25 centimeters of snow is expected to fall in Tromsø these days. However, most of it is to fall in land part in the Troms district - even a 45 cm layer of down is planned.
- "When going to work today, it is worth leaving a little earlier" - says Magnus Haukeland for Nettavisen - "We must be aware that we will have to remove the snow from the car" - he adds.
Not only snow, but also wind
The weather forecast not only predicts snow, but also strong gusts of wind. These intensified already during the night from Thursday to Friday. As predicted, they have give way only on Saturday evening. All because of the atmospheric front that has arrived over Norway from the west.

Winds and snowfall will also accompany low temperatures. On the coast they will hover around zero degrees Celsius, but inland they will drop below zero. The weather will be also be characterized by high geographic diversity - in some places it will be colder, more windy and snowy than in others the weather will be a bit more pleasant.
A calmer Saturday
Intensive snowfall and strong winds mainly concern Friday. This does not mean that in Saturday we can expect a much better aura. It will still be blew. Snow will not leave us as well low temperatures. Nevertheless, it will be a bit longer nicer than on Friday, and the wind is to calm down in Saturday evening.

Heavy road conditions
As predicted Meteorological Institute, due to the upcoming weather should be expected obstructions on the roads. Report on the current situation on the site State Highways Authority confirms these revelations. Just take a look at the map to find out that:
- it will be slippery on the Ev 10 road in Bjørnfjell, in addition, we must expect a south-west wind,
- on the Ev 6 road in Gratangsfjellet there will also be alternating snow cover and ice,
- There will also be snow on the Ev 8 road on the Skibotn - Galggojavri section, which due to the temperature above zero will melt and form slush.
