The Norwegian education system is doing well. This country can enjoy a good substantive background and cooperation with really qualified educators who know how to approach a child. They can understand his needs and respond to them. However, the ruling party still wants to fight against the shortcomings and irregularities of the system. The biggest problem today is school absences. Many of them are unjustified. There was an idea to deal with this situation. What? About it below!

School absences - greater monitoring at school

Parents do not excuse school absences. As a result, there are also problems with completing the semesters. Prime Minister Erna Solberg wants to introduce an obligation to notify and monitor absences of primary and middle school students. Information about the child's absence from lessons is to be immediately passed to the parents - in some the facility already works and brings results. First of all, it is necessary to improve the system that will allow for more accurate verification of the child's presence at school - something needs to be changed here.

The problem is serious ...

“Absences from classes among junior high school students are becoming more common Norway increasingly a more serious challenge. In one school year alone, approximately 9.000 tenth-grade students have more than 15 days of absence recorded. This means that students spent over three weeks outside the school walls – statement by Erna Solberg during Sunday's visit to the summer camp of Unge Høyres (the youth group of the Høyre party).

The reasons for the absence of children from school

Absences from school and learning problems ...

Absence from school affects not only the here and now time and the child's understanding of knowledge, but also overall learning problems. Children and adolescents who do not attend classes regularly have a problem with graduating from high school. Educational gaps are evident in practice.

“We are concerned about the fact that around 25 students do not complete high school. The question must be whether we could have reacted earlier and took appropriate preventive measures to prevent this situation. Perhaps you should intervene to anticipate serious problems that prevent you from continuing your studies. ”- Prime Minister Solberg in an interview with the NTB news agency.

Worth remembering! Professional education is important from an early age. Both the level of learning and absences from school affect the final result. Other aspects are also important. Recently we wrote about, among other things, science language and its impact on the development of our children. We refer to the text: Children's bilingualism and its advantages.
