Companies in Norway can claim quarantine costs

The Ministry of Trade and Industry informs that companies can apply for the reimbursement of quarantine costs from May 10. A quarantine compensation program is launched to compensate companies for the costs incurred by foreign workers in quarantine.

We have a program to help companies in a difficult situation

– During the pandemic companies incurred high costs related to the quarantine entry and infection control measures for foreign workers. It is satisfying that we have a program to help companies in difficulty by covering part of these costs, says Minister of Trade and Industry Iselin Nybø.

The program starts on May 10, 2021.

The program covers costs related to the implementation of entry quarantine. A fee of PLN 1000 must be paid for entry quarantine NOK per employee or contractor per day, capped upwards by additional company costs. Costs may include food services during quarantine, hotel room rental, testing and other infection control measures in line with COVID-19 regulations, etc. The support you can apply for covers costs for three periods. Each of them is two months long, from November 1, 2020 to April 30, 2021. The program starts on May 10, 2021. Then you will be able to apply for all periods.

Now we are ready to help the business community with this program as well and we are looking forward to it, says Brønnøysund's director of registries, Lars Peder Brekk.

The quarantine compensation system is based on automatic case processing, so most people will get a reply after a short time. The application must be approved in advance by an auditor or an authorized accountant. The application deadline is September 30. More information on the program and how to apply can be found at the Brønnøysund Registration Center. It will also be possible to submit applications for support here from May 10, 2021 inclusive. The program regulations were consulted with the application deadline on April 9 and adopted on May 1.
