The former Nav refugee consultant was convicted in the Hålogaland Court of Appeal for abuse of power and false accusation of rape against a Syrian refugee.
The sentence is 14 months in prison, and the refugee will receive an additional 100 kronor in compensation, he writes Rett24 .
A woman in her 12s worked at Nav and assisted a refugee in applying for family reunification for his XNUMX-year-old younger brother. There was sexual contact between them.
A refugee in his thirties asked to meet the consultant's chief and explained that he felt pressured to have sex with the woman because he understood that otherwise it would be difficult to bring his brother to Norway. The woman responded by accusing the man of rape.
The appeals court ruled that the rape charge was false. Consequently, the woman was convicted of both false slander and abuse of power in the workplace. The same conclusion was reached by the Salten District Court in February this year.
