Customs service warns against alcohol purchased from illegal sources. The reason is that more than 18 empty glass bottles have been imported into Norway in the last 50 months.
Over the past year and a half, seizures and analyzes have been carried out which show that large amounts of empty bottles, cartons, labels and corks are imported into Norway.
Many products apparently come from well-known alcohol brands, but are actually counterfeit copies. Drinking such alcoholic beverages can be very harmful to your health and, in the worst case, lead to death.
– No one can be sure when drinking illegal alcohol, even if it looks like the original product in the bottle or carton. This can be as dangerous as buying alcohol in plastic bottle in a dark alley, says customs director Øystein Børmer.
According to their observations, criminals put more effort into bottling and packing illegal alcohol.
– However, this does not change the fact that consuming such a drink is of unknown origin poses a serious threat for health, says Børmer.
