At least 0,5% profit against gambling problems

The Norwegian government supports organizations and the environment research that deals with combating gambling addiction. The new Gambling Act provides for allocating at least 0,5% of Norsk Tipping's profit to activities against gambling problems. The detailed breakdown of funds will be announced in autumn 2023.

Gambling addiction

Gambling addicts often spend large sums of money gambling. This can lead to serious financial problems for themselves and their families. They can also commit crimes such as theft or fraud to get money to play.

Gambling addiction can also lead to health problems such as stress, depression, self and thinking problems, as well as damaging relationships with family, friends and partners.

In addition, the problem of gambling addiction can have a negative impact on society, as it increases the risk of crime, family problems and other negative events.

Therefore, it is important to help people addicted to gambling and prevent the development of this addiction through education and public awareness.
