– I am proud that the Municipality of Oslo provides such a wide range of services for children and young people during the summer. Summer holidays can be long and demanding if you have nothing to do. That's why it's important that we offer exciting summer activities where children and young people have fond memories of their holidays in a safe environment, says Sunniva Holmås Eidsvoll, City Councilor for Education and Knowledge.

“It is fantastic that every summer the municipality helps thousands of young people find a job. Vacation and vacation jobs are arenas of coping and learning where young people are given responsibility and learn to take responsibility. Young people gain experience of the expectations, demands and rights of working life, which they can take with them when they later look for a job, says Usman Mushtaq, city councilor for jobs, inclusion and social services.

“We have seen that free sports holidays attract many children who would otherwise not take part in sports activities. When it's free, low-threshold and fun-based, run by young people that kids look up to, you can turn on more people. And it pays off long after the holidays – many children sign up for the club for the rest of the year. Summer sports gave a real recruitment impulse - it is needed! This is Omar Samy Gamal, City Councilor for Culture, Sport and Volunteering.
