At the halfway point of Saturday's World Cup competition in Willingen (HS147), Aleksander Zniszczoł was in 145,5rd place after a jump of 3 meters - we read on the PZN website. Ultimately, he placed 8th and recorded the best Polish result in the season. The winner was the Norwegian Johann Andre Forfang, who jumped as much as 155,5 meters in the second series and broke the facility record held by Klemens Murańka!

He finished in the top 10 of the World Cup in Willingen

The weather did not spoil the competitors and fans gathered on the Muehlenkopfschanze hill. The rain made the task difficult for the organizers, but they coped with the task and prepared the run-up properly. The jumps of the first competitors showed that it is possible to fly far.
Aleksander Zniszczoł made great use of his opportunity, jumping 145,5 meters and taking third place after the first series. Unfortunately, the rest of our representatives did not follow the 29-year-old's example. Dawid Kubacki also advanced, scoring exactly 130 meters and taking 30th place. Kamil Stoch, 43, and Piotr Żyla, 48, failed to do this. At the halfway point, Finn Antti Aalto was unexpectedly leading with 147,5 meters.

In the second series, the wind made it difficult for Destroyer to jump

The second series was started by Kubacki, who jumped 134,5 meters, thanks to which he advanced to 23rd place. The conditions allowed for long flights, as demonstrated by the Japanese Ryoyu Kobayashi (148 m) and the Norwegian Kristoffer Eriksen Sundal (150 m). Unfortunately, the wind changed later, which made the task more difficult for the Destroyer who jumped third from the bottom. Despite this, the man from Cieszyn did quite well, landing at 130 meters. He dropped to seventh place and eventually finished eighth. For our representative, this is the second best result in his career in the World Cup, as well as the first Polish result in the top 10 this season.

There's no equal on Saturday had a Norwegian Johann Andre Forfang, who reached as much as 155,5 meters and set a new hill record in Willingen. The previous one belonged to Klemens Murańka and was 153 meters long. Aalto failed, jumping 128 meters, and Kobayashi, second, and Sundal, third, took the podium.
