"Poland and Norway are good partners"

– Today, Poland is the political, economic and cultural center of gravity in the center of Europe. Poland has also become one of Norway's most important partners. Poland is an important trading partner and our largest market export for fish and seafood. Poland is also the country where Norway has the widest cooperation in the field EEA Funds and Norwegian Funds. We share views on the most important challenges facing Europe. The war in Ukraine and the security situation in Europe were a natural topic of the meeting. Both Poland and Norway make large military and humanitarian contributions to Ukraine.

"The way Poland welcomed Ukrainian refugees is impressive"

- Poland is an important partner countrywhen it comes to support for Ukraine. They play a key role in facilitating contributions Member States Alliance for Ukraine. Poland is one of Kiev's biggest supporters. The way Poland adopted Ukrainian refugees, is impressive, said Støre.

Energy security was also on the agenda. The Baltic Pipe gas pipeline was opened in 2022 and secures supplies of Norwegian gas directly to Poland.

– This contributes to increasing energy security in Europe. Norway plays an important role as an energy supplier to the European market. Exports to Poland have increased significantly since the opening of the Baltic Pipe. This will contribute not only to a sharp increase in trade, but also to energy security in the region, Støre said.
