We lack specialists. Every year, the Norwegian Labor Office conducts research to determine the direction in which the local economy is headed. The results from this year indicate that the development trend is in line with the assumptions of the government's policy. However, the increasing economic development has an impact on the possibilities of filling the vacant jobs. Currently, Norwegian companies are struggling with a shortage of qualified employees. The problem is particularly acute in areas such as healthcare, in the IT services sector, and in professions such as carpenters and carpenters.

From year to year, fewer and fewer specialists

This year's results of the conducted research confirm that the Norwegian economy is moving in a designated and, at the same time, the most desirable direction. However, this is related to a smaller number of specialists who can work in strategic industries. As it turns out, about 44 employees are currently missing. This means an increase of approx. 400 percent compared to last year's results.

We lack specialists in healthcare

The report also indicates that the greatest problem with the shortage of specialists is felt by the health sector. There are currently 4 vacancies waiting to be filled, mainly nurses. It is worth mentioning that in 500 there was a shortage of 2017 employees meeting the requirements necessary to work in specific positions in this industry.

Companies operating in carpentry and carpentry also face a similar problem. In turn, programmers and system analysts are looking for companies operating in the IT area. A large shortage can also be found in the real estate management, business and professional services sectors. It is estimated that about 12 people are short of work in this area.

The shortage of specialists is almost everywhere

On a year-to-year basis, a lack of specialized employees was recorded in all districts. The exception is Hordaland. Most people were missing in Oslo. The report indicates that the companies operating there collectively need over 8 people to work. The shortage of workers is also felt in cities such as Nordland, Akershus and Finnmark. In turn, companies located in Vet-Agder, Buskersud, Oppland, Hedmark, Aust-Agder and Vestfold have the least recruitment problems. This confirms the results obtained last year. According to them, the smallest shortage occurs in the northern part of the Kingdom of Norway.
