A construction company in Norway is the most popular form of economic activity conducted by Poles. As part of the "Poles Build Norway" program by Paweł Borun, we discussed how to open this type of enterprise in the Viking Country, step by step.

A construction company in Norway - a form of activity

A construction company in Norway is an attractive economic entity for Poles. When trying to open it, you should first of all consider the form of running your business. As Paweł Boruń advises, it is worth considering the capital company ASwhen we think about larger construction projects. Such entities are distinguished by greater financial transparency that can be verified in registers. Thus, you can build trust in your own brand faster, and this is especially important in the Norwegian reality.

Company name

It turns out that the name of the company also plays a significant role in marketing. According to Paweł Boruń, it is a good idea to add, for example, Gruppe to the suffix, thanks to which we will raise the importance of our brand. It is also worth adding the name of the city or district where the company is based or where the services are provided, eg Akershus Glass Service. It is an effective marketing procedure, which at the same time improves the visibility of our company website on Google.

Construction company in Norway - first days

After starting your business, expect massive phone calls. These will not necessarily be new customers who will start using our services. Entrepreneurs in Norway - and also, for example, in Poland - get calls from various companies offering their services. Their traders convince us to take advantage of HMS courses or various systems. They usually offer contracts for a year, sometimes there are also proposals to be bound for up to 3 years.

The concept of their business is based on sales alone - not necessarily consulting. Therefore, it is worth considering what exactly we will need in our company. You can also contact Soluton AS, whose advisers will analyze your needs and indicate which systems are worth investing in and, above all, at what stage of development.

Construction company in Norway - first employees

A construction company in Norway does not operate in a vacuum. Thinking about development and "entering" larger and larger construction sites, sooner or later we will have to hire workers. It is worth remembering that every employer (even employing one part-time employee) is required to complete the obligatory HMS course. Its purpose is to gain knowledge on how to deal with an employee in accordance with applicable law.

HMS course in Polish

A Polish construction company in Norway does not have to be doomed to Norwegian-language HMS courses. Soluton AS has introduced to its offer training courses conducted in our native Polish language. Additionally, these courses are not just dry theory. Soluton AS offers video guides, work on practical and real documents - that is HMS for the employer in a nutshell.

HMS cards

It is worth emphasizing that each employee on the construction site must have an HMS card. Without it, he should not even enter the investment site. Interestingly, this obligation applies not only to builders. If you are employed even as a pizza delivery person delivering meals to the construction site every day, you must have an HMS card.

Company health clinic

The next step is to sign a contract with the company's health clinic. It aims to support the entrepreneur on the way to achieving excellence in HMS (i.e. occupational health and safety). It also has doctors who can carry out the necessary periodic employee examinations. Soluton AS does not provide such services directly, however, it cooperates with a Norwegian partner that offers such services.

The

A construction company in Norway also requires periodic training of its employees. Their type is determined by many factors, including work station. If the employed person works with the saw, he or she must undergo a course in safe and hygienic work with this device. The same applies to all other places of professional activity, such as, for example, work on scaffolding, which requires training for the user of the scaffolding.

Fire-hazardous work

For employees who work with devices that emit high temperatures, training in fire-hazardous work is necessary. They are run by a partner, Soluton AS, who is associated with the fire brigade. This applies to all workplaces where they are used, for example, with welding roofing felt or require the use of a grinder.

Intercontrol system

The internal control system is necessary to carry out work on construction sites. The Internkontroll system ensures the proper functioning of the company in terms of health and safety. It contains the complete HMS plans as well as the routines and other necessary documents that a construction company in Norway has to complete. Find out more about HMS / KS System Soluton Leder >>>

Verneombud

Verneombud is the person responsible for safety on the construction site. As long as we, as employers, do not employ more than 10 employees, the responsibilities of verneombuda rest on our shoulders. After this employment limit is exceeded, a person should be appointed to be responsible for health and safety at the workplace. You can read more about verneombud and how to select it here >>>

Central godkjenning

When thinking about larger projects, try to get a grant central godkjenning, i.e. building qualifications. In the economic market, they are perceived as a "seal of quality" of the company, which is awarded by the Norwegian Construction Directorate. Having these powers is also the transfer of information that the company is competent to perform the tasks. Find out more on the Soluton AS website >>>

Company insurance

A construction company in Norway should also have insurance. First of all, we take responsibility for our employees as an employer. The most important issue is signing an employee insurance contract. OTP (pension pillar) is also necessary, and you should also consider purchasing third party liability insurance. It allows for coverage losses as a result activities of our company.
