The Norwegian Meteorological Institute warned against severe weather conditions that were to occur in Nordland. Due to the conditions, an orange alert was sent on Saturday morning.
Orange warning in Nordland
The strong gusts of wind, high waves and storms that have occurred in Nordland are calming down a bit, but meteorologists predict that Saturday afternoon may still surprise us. Strong winds were announced north of Helgeland and would last until Saturday evening. As a result of gusts of the above-mentioned high waves, even from 10 to 14 m, were expected in the region. Eventually, the atmospheric conditions led to the determination of the orange-colored hazard level.

Changing the color of the warning
The morning wind that occurred was very strong, but eventually began to weaken. However, meteorologists announce that the areas of Lofoten and Nord-Salten are still exposed to stronger gusts. We can observe milder weather throughout the day as a result of the color warning has been changed from orange to yellow. Finally, meteorologists report that Nordland residents can expect minor storms on Saturday afternoon. In some places the wind will reach speeds of up to 35 m/s, although it will start to weaken again in the late evening.
