Norway tempts not only with beautiful landscapes and fascinating culture, but also with a valuable and interesting offer of academic education. Norwegian universities offer foreign student exchanges and this was the offer that was used by Natalia Wójcik - a student from Wrocław, who spent the last academic semester in Vda on the west coast of Norway.

- Why Norway?

- I chose Norway because I was always drawn to the north and to the mountains. I am also interested in ski jumping, and Norway is, after all, the motherland of skiing.

– Was it difficult for you to acclimatize? Norway is definitely different from Poland.

- I came to Volda in January, the day lasted five hours then, it was a bit difficult for me to change over. But I got used to it quickly. I also met one Polish woman who helped me a little bit in adjusting to the new place.

- At the very beginning you were a bit scared because everything was new and different. But how would you ultimately rate your exchange time in Norway? Plus or minus?

– I would definitely rate it as a plus. Even though I had to break down a bit at the beginning. I met great people from different countries, the school made sure we didn't feel foreign, and I improved my English. I would definitely recommend to others student exchange trip to Norway. It was a great experience, I also traveled a lot and got to know a different culture. I would gladly go on this exchange again, or at least extend it.

- You've met a lot of Norwegians. What are they like? How are they different from Poles?

- We, Poles, are curious about everything. Norwegians are rather quiet, it takes them a while to open up. At the beginning, I had to get answers from them, because they themselves were not willing to give them to me. I also like the fact that for them there is never a problem with anything and they help when needed.

- Did you feel the difference between the Norwegian education system and the Polish one?

- First of all, there are definitely fewer items. You also have to work more alone from home, more is required. It's hard to say whether I like the Norwegian or the Polish system more. I certainly liked the fact that I had more time to myself because I didn't have much to do. And we worked more in groups, which also suited me. Sometimes the groups were small and the lecturer could discuss each work separately. It was fun too.

- Before you left, you must have had a picture of Norway that came into contact with reality when you came there. Was it as you imagined it?

- I did not expect that the Norwegians are so closed. As for the country itself, it exceeded my expectations. The live landscape is even more beautiful.

- Are you going to go back to Norway?

- Certainly touristic. And if we are talking in the category of work or study, I would like to study there. Time will tell.
