NAV: social welfare - bigger budget in 2020. We have important information for all NAV recipients in Norway. As we all know, the second half of 2019 was not happy for NAV. This institution was struggling with really serious problems. And we are not talking about budget problems here, but about the scandal that occurred last year. NAV was right in the middle of these events. The wrongly imposed penalties on social support recipients shocked NAV and caused quite a stir. It would seem that this will be the beginning of an avalanche that will fall inevitably. We receive information that unfortunately this is not the end of the problems. NAV spending is likely to increase by CZK 94 billion by 2030. It should be noted, however, that the reason for this state of affairs is not internal problems, but the growing number of pensioners in the country. What do we know more?

Currently, a huge part of the NAV budget is consumed by insurance, pensions, disability benefits and benefits - family and unemployment benefits. It will still be like that. In addition, we cannot forget about costs such as: medicines and cost reimbursement medical, psychological and physiotherapy assistance. NAV already cooperates permanently with the Health Authority (Helsedirektoratet), and this is a real sea of needs. This will undoubtedly continue. And that's why it will last several good years.

Why is the number of retirement pensioners growing?

NAV: Social care – higher expenses in 2020. Some readers are probably wondering why number of pensioners in Norway it's growing so fast. Unfortunately, an unhealthy lifestyle, climate changes, ubiquitous diseases, and accidents of fate mean that the status of a pensioner is maintained increasingly younger people. Reason? sudden, chronic illness that prevents you from continuing work. In addition to this, the reason may also be, among others car accident – and consequences in the form of temporary or permanent disability. To sum up. Medical care, rehabilitation. All that involves costs. Which is why more and more people (and what is worth mentioning here, more and more young people) receive a social and rehabilitation pension from NAV.
