According to the National Register, four people live in the house, reports the Southeast Police District on Twitter.
Police inform NTB that they do not know yet if people are at home.
An ambulance helicopter arrived at the scene, by 3.20 the police had not yet clarified whether there were people in the house.
- We try to contact people who are registered at the address, so far it is ineffective. It is burning heavily on the spot, says COO Jan Kristian Johnsrud of NTB's Southeast Police District.
At 5.20, the police inform that the emergency services have failed to contact the residents of the house. The relatives of the inhabitants were informed about the fire.
The house has burned down and the fire department is extinguishing the ruins. Police received the report at 2.27 am on Monday.
According to police, there were likely four people in the building that burned down in Drammen. The communal crisis team was notified.
- We fear they may have been at home when it burned down, says NTB chief of Drammen Øyvind Aas police station.
Aas says it is too early to say anything about the possible cause of the fire, it was still too hot at seven to enter the ruins.
