Parking spaces in Norway are still a "scarce commodity". They are missing mainly in large cities, near shopping centers. More and more of us have our own car - we are motorized. We arrive at the shopping center and... we have no place to park. This fact adversely affects the income of popular supermarkets. We don't want to be nervous about looking for a place, so we stay at home and shop online. How does Norway want to combat this problem?

More parking spaces in Norway are disappearing?

In Oslo, 760 parking spaces in the city center have been removed over the past four years. Bjørn Næss, general director of the Oslo Traders Association (Oslo Handelsstand Forening), claims that there is no reason to worry, because the largest supermarkets still have high profits. Is it true? Not completely. Recently, a special study was carried out by YouGov on behalf of Danske Bank. It shows that 1 in 3 give up shopping in traditional stores for online shopping.

Why do we use online stores:

  • time saving - you can complete the transaction without leaving your home,
  • better prices – we can often buy cheaper in an online store than in stationary supermarkets,
  • licensed collections available in online stores,
  • competent service that advises well in the selection of products.

Are you worried about the lack of parking spaces? If you can shop outside of opening hours the largest peak. If you can and you're closer shop, do not enter the center.

Change to a bike - for your health and comfort!

In Oslo alone, Bysykkel includes 140 bicycle rental stations. We can rent a bike for minutes through a special mobile application. What does it look like financially? The first 45 minutes of riding a rented bike are included in the purchased subscription (CZK 299 per year), and for each the next quarter of an hour is paid 5 crowns. Bike-sharing is becoming more and more popular - by switching to a bike we save time, we don't get stuck in traffic jams, we improve our fitness, and we have a positive impact on the environment. We limit car traffic, which anyway city center It's too big.
