On October 9, 2018, the official celebration of the 100th anniversary of Poland's Independence took place. It was attended by the entire diplomatic corps of the Polish Embassy in Oslo, representatives of the Norwegian government, as well as invited representatives of the Polish community in Norway. The ceremony ended with a concert of the Capella Cracoviensis choir.
What was happening?
The ceremony was preceded, among others, by a speech by the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland, Iwona Woicka-Żuławska. All the guests were treated with a glass of champagne, and some of them were given bouquets of white and red roses. Finally, Capella Cracoviensis, who will come to Norway as part of the “Go East! Go North! Polish Baroque Promo Tour ”in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
About the choir
Chamber choir and orchestra will perform at the ceremony Capella Cracoviensis - one of the most interesting bands on the contemporary early music scene. He performs repertoire ranging from Renaissance polyphony to early Romantic operas. What distinguishes the ensemble is the use of instruments from the eras appropriate for a given composition during their concerts. Old enforcement practices are also used. Capella Cracoviensis is a recognized ensemble, as evidenced by the fact that they are invited to the most important festivals and concert halls, including for the following: Bachfest Leipzig, SWR Festspiele Schwetzingen, Händel Festspiele Halle, Haydn Festspiele Brühl, Opéra Royal Versailles, Theater an der Wien, NOSPR Katowice, Philharmonic Szczecin, Misteria Paschalia Kraków. The band's guests were, among others: Evelino Pidó, Christophe Rousset, Alessandro Moccia, Giuliano Carmignola, Paul Goodwin, Andrew Parrott, and Paul McCreesh.
