-There is a clear need for clear ones national regulations regarding who should be quarantined and isolated and what that means. On Friday, we explained this to people coming to Norway from abroad. Now we are preparing it for people who have had close contact with an infected person, says Bent Høie, Minister of Health and Care.

We also see that several municipalities express great concern. Their health services and care facilities are not intended to care for Hytt residents. We are pleased that many complied with the Prime Minister's express request to return home yesterday, but they will check later in the day whether the rest do so voluntarily. If municipalities continue to report today that people are in their Hyttas, the government will impose a ban on it. We have therefore today adopted a regulation on this matter, which may apply from the moment the decision is taken. This could happen quickly if people don't voluntarily comply with this request now, Høie says.

Prohibition on staying in recreational facilities outside their home municipality will come into force once a decision has been made by the Ministry of Health and Care. The Ministry will return with further information on the date..

The rules read as follows:

The Norwegian government has adopted a new quarantine ordinance

The new regulation stipulates that people should be quarantined if they have had close contact with someone infected with the coronavirus. This is not the case medical staffwho used appropriate protective equipment.

By "close contact" is meant contact with other persons who are less than two meters away for more than 15 minutes or direct physical contact.

Quarantine lasts 14 days from the date of contact. In the case of people who came from abroad, quarantine period is valid from the date of arrival of the person in Norway.

People under quarantine must stay in your own home or other suitable place of residence. They can only go out if close contact with others is avoided. People subject to quarantine should not go to work or school, make long trips in the country or abroad, use public transport or visit places where large groups of people stay.

The regulations are an exception to this quarantine policy.

People who are absolutely necessary to maintain the proper functioning of life and health functions. They are exempt from quarantine obligation when working or traveling to work other than public transport. Functions related to life and health include, among others, guard service in the health service and health care, security work (police, fire preparedness and rescue) and senior management with key social functions. The application of the exception should be explained to the company's management. People covered by the exemption should, where possible, avoid close contact with other people, and the exemption applies only in contexts working in a controlled environment, not free time.

This is a narrow exception to new regulations than adopted on Friday for people staying abroad. This is because there is a greater risk associated with people who have been in contact with infected people than if they were abroad. Then we need to be more careful.

insulation

People with confirmed coronavirus disease should remain in isolation. Quarantined people who develop fever or symptoms page layout respiratory symptoms, such as coughing or wheezing, should also remain isolated.

Isolation means that a person stays in his or her own home or other suitable place of residence. This person should be isolated from others. He should have, as far as possible, no close contact with people from the same household. People should self-isolate until 7 days after symptoms subside.

Prohibition of staying on a recreational property in a commune other than the commune of residence

The regulation stipulates that persons who own recreational properties in a commune other than the registered one cannot you are allowed to stay in this place. Absolutely necessary maintenance or supervision necessary to avoid serious property damage is required.

The Norwegian government has adopted a new regulation. Penalty and entry into force

Intentional or grossly negligent breach of the provisions of the regulations is punishable by a fine or imprisonment for up to 6 months. This means that the penalty is significantly reduced compared to the maximum penalty of a fine or a two-year prison sentence. There seems to be a more proportionate penalty for this type of crime.

The regulations will enter into force immediately. The exception is the ban on staying on recreational property outside one's home commune. will be valid until April 1. The Ministry of Health and Care has been authorized to change i extension of regulations. It can therefore quickly adapt recipes to your experiences and needs.
