Møre i Romsdal fylke council is following the advice of the Meteorological Institute and is raising the alarm for the coming days following the warnings. The weather may close many facilities and make it difficult, among others: school transport.

Much of the road network is likely to be closed

A red danger warning has been issued since Wednesday afternoon, and bridges and road sections are likely to be closed due to the weather, particularly in the outer parts of the county. This means it is likely that bus services, ferries will be canceled in Møre and Romsdal on Wednesday afternoon /motorboats and school buses.

Many high school students take long journeys by public transport. As a result, secondary schools in Møre and Romsdal implemented digital school on Wednesday.

– The weather situation means that being caught in road traffic could have serious consequences. Roads may be closed due to trees or other objects on the road. We ask everyone to follow the advice and take notifications seriously. We will closely monitor the situation, says Ole Jan Tønnesen, the manager of the district roads in the municipality of Møre and Romsdal.

  • High waves may cause damage to infrastructure and buildings in the beach area
