The holiday in Norway for an employee is at least 25 working days in one calendar year. However, if you are over 60, you are entitled to an additional week of holiday leave. Vacation in Norway - working days
Norwegian labor law does not include public holidays and Sundays up to working days. Therefore, as a rule, a working week consists of six days, including Saturday. Determining the vacation leave
It is generally accepted practice in Norway that the employer is obliged to agree a vacation schedule with the employee in advance. However, if a shop steward is employed at the workplace, then he is responsible for all leave arrangements. If no agreement is reached in this respect, the employer has the final say. Except for the holiday period (i.e. from June 1 to September 30), during which the employee is entitled to three consecutive weeks of holiday leave.
Vacation in Norway - special conditions
It is worth remembering that although it is the employer who ultimately decides on the vacation schedule in Norway, the employee must be informed at least two months before he can go on vacation. If you fall ill during your vacation and have a sick leave, you have the right to postpone the days of unused vacation to another period of the year. The necessary condition is to submit your request as soon as possible after returning to work.
