On Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at the Porselensmuseet, Telemark Museum (Porcelain Museum) in Porsgrunn, Norway, the ceremonial opening of the exhibition “Painted with stamp and brush. Presentation of contemporary ceramic plants operating in the Bolesławiec Land.

The event was attended by representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in the Kingdom of Norway: Magda Modrzyńska - counselor-minister and head of the Political and Economic Department and Grzegorz Szopiński - XNUMXst counselor in the Political and Economic Department (https://www.facebook.com/PLinOslo/). The opening was attended by numerous guests from the Norwegian side, including: Anne Kristine Grøtting - Mayor of Porsgrunn Municipality, Sven Tore Løkslid - Deputy Mayor of Vestfold and Telemark County, Anders Rambekk - Chairman of the Committee for Children, Youth and Culture in Porsgrunn Municipality, Rose-Marie Christiansen - Porsgrunn Municipality Councilor, Per Sortedal - Porsgrunn Municipality Environment and Urban Development Manager, Målfrid Hålimoen - Porsgrunn Municipality Manager and Mariann Eriksen - Porsgrunn Municipality Manager for Culture and Sport.
The city of Bolesławiec was represented by: Iwona Manżuk-Dudek - deputy mayor of the city, Krzysztof Hewak - president of the Association of Ceramic Communities of the Republic of Poland and head of the Development and Promotion Department, Anna Bober-Tubaj - director of the Ceramics Museum and Monika Wawrzynowska - chief specialist of the Public Procurement and Investment Department. The opening was also attended by representatives of ceramic plants from our district, whose products are presented at the exhibition: Joanna Rejdych and Mariusz Ochocki (Artistic Handicraft Cooperative "Ceramika Artystyczna") and Paulina Stefańczyk ("Manufaktura in Bolesławiec" Sp. z oo sp. k. ). The honorable host was Barbara Ida de Haan - director of the Telemark Museum in Skien, of which the museum in Porsgrunn is a part.
Preparation and implementation
A Norwegian-Polish team of specialists from Skien and Bolesławiec was responsible for the preparation and implementation of the exhibition. The Museum of Ceramics was represented by: senior conservator Barbara Glinkowska, artist and ceramist Barbara Bednarowicz, curator Michał Karpiński, museum guide Michał Czerniawski and exhibition curator Renata Styczyńska-Oroń.
The Telemark Museum staff included: Syv Dyrkolbotn – administrative manager, Karolina Szawica – project manager for international cooperation, Ann Kathrin Samuelsen – operational manager of Porsgrunn Porcelain Museum and Ann Iren Ryggen Aasen – collection manager.
Culture and Art
The newly opened exhibition is another opportunity to show a wide range of European recipients artistic ceramic products produced in our region. 32 factories operating in the communes of the Bolesławiec poviat belonging to the Association of Ceramic Communities of the Republic of Poland presented their designs:

workshops
The vernissage was accompanied by workshops popularizing the use of stamps and brushes to decorate ceramics. The classes were conducted by museologists from Bolesławiec, using original semi-finished products and materials transported for this purpose from Bolesławiec. They enabled the participants to get acquainted with traditional decorative techniques and patterns commonly used in Bolesławiec factories. The exhibition and workshops were organized as part of the "Poland i Norwegia on the European Ceramics Route: inclusion of Bolesławiec and Porsgrunn in the international cooperation network of cities with ceramic traditions. The project is co-financed by the European Economic Area Financial Mechanism under the "Culture" Program implemented by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage and covers many activities. The most important of them is the renovation and adaptation of the Pückler Palace in Bolesławiec into the new seat of the Ceramics Museum. Others include temporary exhibitions, workshops and training, as well as multi-directional promotion of the European Ceramics Route.
The exhibition will last until September 4, 2023 and is open to the public at the Porselensmuseet in Porsgrunn (Porselensveien 6b, 3920 Porsgrunn).
