Worker's rights in Norway - why don't we fight?

Today we want to raise an important and certainly embarrassing topic for many. According to recent statistics, it is estimated that at least 1 in 10 employees observed or witnessed mobbing at their workplace, injustice of the boss, disturbing behavior in the team. Workers' rights in Norway and in other countries are constantly violated. Why are we often silent when we are a victim or when we see an illegal activity in our facility? Do we close our eyes? We prefer not to say anything? This is a big mistake - it's worth fighting for your rights. Also in Norway - we are not alone, we can and we must fight for our rights.

Worker rights in Norway - don't be afraid to get out of the trap!

There is no strength to stay in an uncomfortable situation. We often do nothing - we are afraid of losing our position, revenge from our employer, consequences - and finally we are afraid to admit to ourselves, our family and friends that we have problems. Mobbing can have many faces. Illegal behavior can occur on a financial, economic, sexual or ethnic basis. It is worth noting here that there is no longer a rule these days. Mobbing may occur on the part of women and men in senior positions. The first step is the most important one, but it is worth, and even must be done.

Bad working conditions - why do we not react?

Work frustrates us. We feel bad in it, and yet we are stuck in this bad situation. Why is it like that. Usually the reason is shame, guilt, and other obligations. Dependent family or loan we have to pay back. We want to ensure the well-being of our loved ones and we are afraid of radical actions.

Breaking employee rights - how to seek help?

Support in the event of violation of employee rights (whether in the context of company insolvency, illegal overtime, various types of violence), you can report, among others:

  • representatives of trade unions,
  • the safety spokesperson,
  • public authorities.

Also, don't be afraid to tell a loved one about it: a family member or a dear friend. In a difficult situation at work, when we are a victim, we need support - both mental and practical. It is important that someone is nearby.
