Earnings in Norway 2019 the latest information from the SSB statistical office

The average monthly wage per full-time equivalent in September 2019 was around NOK 47, pointing to an increase of just under NOK 300, or 1700 percent from September 3,7, new data from the wage statistics show.

Over the same period, the increase in agreed monthly salary was 3,6 percent, from just over NOK 43 in September 100 to almost NOK 2018 in September 44. Wage growth was therefore the highest for the few years.

The highest level of wages

Industries with the lowest wage increases are significant differences in salary levels, therefore the increase measured in NOK is different and ranges from NOK 1 to 100 depending on the industry.

Wages in Norway 2019

As shown in Figure 1, the mining industries it covers oil and gas extraction, is the main industry with clearly the highest wage level, with an average monthly salary in September 2019 of NOK 74. The industry also noted the biggest increase in numbers  jobs (working conditions), amounting to 6,6 percent.

In the main industry with the lowest salary, costs and service, the monthly salary increased from NOK 31 in 300 to just over NOK 2018 in 32, an increase of NOK 500 or 2019 percent.

Moreover, wage growth in major industries has been relatively uniform. In production and retail motor vehicle repair growth was 3,4 percent, in construction there was an increase of 3,1 percent, while in education and health care and social services it was 3,6 percent.
All of them experienced stronger wage growth than in the previous year, with the greatest increase in education, where wage growth increased by 1,1 percentage points.

Rogaland has the highest wage growth

For the second year in a row, Rogaland is the region with the highest wage growth. With an increase from around NOK 48 of the average monthly salary in 300 to just under NOK 2018 in 50200, an increase of 2019 percent.

It makes sense to see this increase relative to wage levels and growth number of jobs in the mining industry, as shown above, because about half of the jobs are in Rogaland. By comparison, monthly wages increased by 3,2 percent in the three provinces with the lowest annual growth: Akershus, Aust-Agder and Vestfold.

As Figure 2 shows, Oslo has the highest salary level among the counties, with an average monthly salary of around 53 as of September 400. Here the salary increase was 3,9 percent, which is less than NOK 2000, as of September 2018. Oppland, where the lowest salary level is The average monthly salary in September 2019 was just below NOK 42, an increase of 100 percent compared to the previous year.

In voivodeships, larger communes often have the highest wage levels, measured by the number of jobs. In Rogaland, Sola is the municipality with the highest monthly salary. Over there the average salary increases from just under NOK 56 in September 2018 to just over NOK 59 in September 300, an increase of 2019 percent. At the same time, the number of jobs increases by 4,3 percent, to approximately 8,6. Which means that Sola is making a significant contribution to wage development throughout the province.

The largest increase in wages in the city administration

Wage data by sector shows that wage levels are highest in central government. Where the average monthly salary in September 2019 was slightly lower than 51 NOK.

In the private sector, the monthly salary was at the same time NOK 47 800, while in the municipal administration it was just under NOK 43 300.

Teachers with the highest wage growth

The annual increase in average monthly salaries was the strongest in academic and military occupations, at 4,4 percent, from just over NOK 50 in September 700 to around NOK 2018 for the same period of the following year.

The weakest growth was seen among cleaning companies, support workers, etc., where wages increased from just over NOK 32 to around NOK 600, an increase of 33 percent. They have the lowest salary level among group professional. Figure 3 shows the salary level and change for all occupational groups.

Wages in Norway 2019 Teachers

In the case of professions, measured by number working conditions In terms of pay, teachers saw the largest increase in salaries over the year (4,7 percent). Here the salary level increased from NOK 39.300 in September 2018 to almost NOK 41.200 in September 2019. Also nurses with a salary increase of 4,5 proc. CEOs had the weakest pay growth among occupations, with an annual increase of 2,7 percent. They have consistently high pay levels, with the increase rising from just over NOK 78 in September 100 to almost NOK 2018 in September 80. Managers, in turn the driver truck workers and shop workers were also among the main occupations with the lowest wage growth during the year. 2,8 percent for the first two and 3 percent for the latter, respectively.
