Let's start from the beginning. What is cabbage soup? How does it taste? Simply put, cabbage soup is a soup made of shredded headed or sauerkraut with vegetables. It is not uncommon for cabbage soup to be made with smoked rib bacon. It can be considered that this soup has many varieties - both in Poland and in other countries. Highlander version of kwaśnica, Slovak - kapustnica, Ukrainian. However, highlanders have for some time believed that kwaśnica should not be presented as a type of cabbage soup. They believe that it is their independent, regional dish.
How to prepare a delicious cabbage soup?
- Vegetables should be peeled, cut and put into boiling water. The basis when it comes to vegetables is, of course, cabbage. We also add carrots, celery, parsley,
- The ribs should be cut and put into the pot with the cabbage,
- After a while, we can add allspice, bay leaves, pepper and salt,
- Cook everything covered,
- At the end, we make a roux,
- When the ribs are soft - add the roux to the soup,
- We can serve the soup with potatoes.

It is also one of those dishes that usually awakens great memories in us - from our carefree childhood.
